General Note

This copy of Habershon's work contains the dedication to John Howard Galton, Esq.; the Preface by Habershon (dated February 1836) and the Description of the Plates [pertaining to Plates 1 to 6], ending with a lithographed vignette of the Woodman's Lodge To Hadzor House (of which Habershon was the architect). The work lacks the 'Essay, Giving A General Historical View Of English Architecture' (by Habershon and dated March 1839) which appears in most of the catalogued copies as well as lacking 30 of the plates which must have appeared when the work was printed with the essay. The printer statement appears on the verso of the title-page, London: Printed by James Taylor, 119, Fleet-Street.
