On the front endpapers have been pasted four plates drawn by H.B. Chalon and published by R.H. Laurie (1827) showing the anatomy of the horse (three printed in color). At the rear have been tipped in two folding plates published by R.H. Laurie, one by C.L. Brett showing the arteries of the horse (1828), the other the muscles (1823), and loosely inserted a photograph by W. Strudwick of C.
