Plates [1], [4], [8], [11] and [16] are outline drawings of the five paintings, and are signed as directed by Bonnemaison and engraved by Charles Normand.
The others, which show details of the paintings, are signed as drawn by Rioult (2, 3, 13), Bralle (5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 17), Laguiche (9, 10), Counis (18, 20, 21), L. Pallière (19, 23), Picot (22) or Monanteuil (24); and as engraved by Massol (2, 18, 21), F. Girard (3, 5, 12, 14, 15, 20), F. Sauvé (7, 13, 23, 24), H. Lefêvre (10), Noel Bertrand (17, 19, 22). Two plates are signed as etched by N. Bertrand and finished by Badoureau (6, 9).

After the downfall of Napoleon in 1815, Wellington was required to arrange the return of works of art seized by the former emperor, and he commissioned Bonnemaison to restore these five works, copy them and return them to Madrid.
