But Vardy also includes some of Kent's 'Gothic' designs (pl. 31, 32, 48, 49, 51), and these are the earliest printed records of the revived Gothic style, apart from Batty Langley's Gothic Architecture Improved (published in 1741-2).

Plates 51-3 are not called for in the 'Table of the Several Plates'. They show Kent's designs for a pulpit in York Minster (pl. 51) and two of his designs for a state barge (pl. 52, 53).
