Summary Note

This article is an offprint from the journal, Transactions of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The plate is captioned and shows 'Idea for the Frontispiece of a Publick Building, England', consisting of a triangular pediment containing allegoric sculpture. The text (p.19) makes clear that this is Cockerell's design for a pediment of St George's Hall, Liverpool.
