Both frontispiece portraits are signed as engraved by Scriven; the source-artists are not named. Both carry the publishers' imprint of Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown and the dates (April 1816, and Nov. 28, 1816). The engraver of the three facsimiles is not named.

The printer's name is repeated in the colophons: 'T. Davison, Lombard-street, Whitefriars, London.'

The work is dedicated by Vassall Holland to Don Manuel Joseph Quintana.

The frontispieces show portraits of Lope de Vega (vol. I) and Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos (vol. II). The three plates of Volume I show facsimiles of the signature of Lope de Vega, of a passage in 'El Marques de las Navas', and of a letter from Don Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos.
