General Note
A survey of Oriental metal works by Arthur von Scala, a leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement and Director of the Museum of Art and Industry (now the Museum of Applied Arts) in Austria. The letterpress text is in both German and English, published on separate sheets. The text, by von Scala, comprises a Prefatory Note followed by Description of the Plates with Authorities Quoted and finally the List of Plates. The translation for the English text section was by Edmund H. Dring.
Binding Note
The front paper-covered board is printed with the German title-page. The portfolio is quarter-bound in brown cloth with gold lettering on the spine, 'Orientalische Metallobjecte'.
