These are followed by 'Dafne Trasformata In Lauro Pittura Del Signor Carlo Maratti ... Descritta in una lettera ... Da Gianpietro Bellori'.

The plates showing the portraits of the twelve painters are each captioned with the painter's name in Latin. In-text illustrations consist of a title-page vignette, head- and tail-pieces and decorated initials.
