This appeal for funds for restoration of the church began a process which did not come to fruition until 1872. The appeal includes proposals by Britton and Hosking for the restoration of the church. The coloured frontispiece shows the 'West front of the Church of St Mary, Redcliffe, Bristol. As proposed to be Restored from Designs by J. Britton & W. Hosking, Architects.' The final pages of the volume contains pages on 'Conditions on which subscriptions are received' and 'Original address, issuesd in July, 1842, and referred to in the commencement of the foregoing appeal.' The printer statement is found at the foot of page 26, 'Lane, Printer, Redcliffe-Street, Bristol.'
