General Note

The work is of loose leaves and mounted plates in a portfolio. At the beginning of the list and descriptions of the plates in the portfolio the contents are described as, 'The drawings reproduced in this issue consist exclusively of portraits by masters chiefly of the German, Flemish, Dutch, or English schools. The originals are drawn either in chalk of one colour or in pencil, and in each reproduction the dimensions, and, as far as possible, the colour of the original are preserved.'

Binding Note

Brown paper-covered boards with title and publication details printed on the front board; dark brown linen spine with no lettering on the spine.
