Summary Note

All plates show male nudes, possibly representing pagan deities. François Verdier worked chiefly under Charles Le Brun, painting and designing both Christian and classical subjects.

18th-century half mottled calf, brown watered-cloth-covered boards; brown morocco spine-label lettered 'Academy Figures By Verdier', spine lettered 'R.A.'; spine repaired in 20th century. Bound with one other.
