Summary Note

The plates show Turks and other persons of the Ottoman empire - Greeks, Albanians, Hungarians, Vlachs, Armenians, Crimeans, Bulgarians, Persians, Indians, Arabs and north Africans, and some French visitors. Plate 100 is double, and shows a Turkish wedding; the two unnumbered plates are double, and show Dervishes whirling and a Turkish burial.

In 1715 was published, Explication des cent estampes qui représentent différentes nations du Levant.
