Provenance

8 January 1820: 'Produce[d] Two Volumes of Outlines from Antique Vases, published by Millingen - recommended by M.r Flaxman to be purchased for the Library.' (RA Council Minutes VI, 94). The second volume would have been Millingen's Peintures antiques de vases grecs de la collection de Sir John Coghill Bart (1813), which is in effect a continuation of the present work.
