500 # # $a The work discusses the creation of the British Royal Pavilion along the 'Rue des Nations' for the Paris International Exhibition of 1900 and the art exhibited with the pavilion. It was decided, as a representative example of historical architecture, to base the pavilion and its furniture and interior decor on a Jacobean manor house, The Hall at Bradford-on-Avon. The architect for the pavilion was Edwin Lutyens. The paintings exhibited within the pavilion were mostly from the 18th century with some works by Sir E. Burne-Jones, as these were the most popular with the French at the time.
