Summary Note

The variant title on the added engraved title-plate reads, 'Parallele De Larchitecture Antique Avec La Moderne'. The dedicatory epistle contains an account of the career of Freart de Chambray's cousin, François Sublet de Noyers. An English translation, A Parallel of the antient architecture with the modern, was published in 1764.
