General Note

The book carries no publication date but it was first launched in Helsinki, Finland in March 2022 during Kuikka's solo exhibition ELÄIN ANIMAL DJUR at Cultural Centre Caisa. ELÄIN ANIMAL DJUR is a moving image installation with 5 channeled video piece (total duration 63min).
The book originally came vacuum-packed in a thick transparent plastic bag, (i.e. like a cut of meat). The seal had to be broken so that the book could be catalogued.
"Other is a publication that expands on the themes of the artwork `Eläin animal djur.’ [From printed sticker on the plastic back in which the book is housed].
The book was self-published by the artist, and the making of it was supported by Frame Contemporary Art Finland and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

With a printed stamp at the foot of the front free endpaper which states: `This book is copy number 068/222. Limited Edition.' Signed in pencil by the artist.

Binding Note

Bound in pink textured fabric resembling animal skin. With a white line-drawing of an upside-down cow on the upper cover and an embossed stamp of a cow surrounded by the words `Other, Andra, Toinen’ [i.e. the title in English, Swedish and Finnish), on the back cover. Printed in white at the foot of the back cover: `Curated by Anikó Kuikka’. With a pink tassled book-mark.
