General Note

The plates are unnumbered and in this copy are not all in the order as listed on pages 29-31. The frontispiece (plate I), for example, is found after most of the plates at the back of the volume; plate LII is found preceding the letterpress title-page (after the chromolithographic additional title-plate listed as plate II). In addition there are several added plates not accounted for in the listing. The printer statement is found on the verso of the letterpress title-page, 'Printed by A. J. Valpy, Red Lion Court, Fleet Street.'

Provenance

The front pastedown has a signature in ink, 'T. Willement' and carries an armorial bookplate of Thomas Willement.

Binding Note

The spine has gold lettering in a red leather label, 'Architecture of Eliz: & James' and lettered in the brown leather of the spine 'Richardson' and 'R.A.'
