General Note
A history of Orvieto cathedral and its associated miracles, including a detailed description of its artistic treasures and a collection of documents. There is no author on the title-page and the dedication is signed only N. N., however it has since been ascribed to Carlo Sannella (e.g. Cicognara 4057).
The dedication to the Bishop of Orvieto, Cardinal Paolo Francesco Antamori, is headed by his coat of arms. The table of contents is located on p. 92-93.
Provenance
There is a largely illegible inscription, possibly a name, on the vellum binding of the front board. On the recto of the front loose endpaper is one illegible short inscription in ink and another in ink reading, Autor e [... ?] Carlo Sanella [sic].
Binding Note
The boards are covered in vellum and the spine has a red morocco label with gilt lettering, 'Notizie Istoriche Del Antica Cattedrale D'Orvieto'. Below the spine label the vellum has gilt lettering, R.A.' and 'Roma 1781'.
