The title-page vignette is signed as drawn by F. Madrazo and engraved by D. Martinez; the headpiece as drawn by Pizarro and engraved by Martinez; the first initial as lithographed by J.J. Martinez and litho-printed by J. Donon. The other decorated initial and the tailpiece are unsigned.

The titles are in Spanish only; but the text is in Spanish and French in parallel.

The work describes the Franciscan Convento de S Juan de los Reyes, in Toledo, which was commissioned in 1476 by Queen Isabella from the architect Juan Guas. The richly decorated structure combines elements of Arab and Gothic Flamboyant styles in the fusion known as 'Hispano-Flemish style'.
