Ordered to be purchased on 10 October 1788 (see RA Council Minutes II, 63); bought for £2 12s 6d. from Francesco Sastres on 3 November 1788 (see Sastres' bill for 'Books ordered by Mr Wilton for the use of the Royal Academy' dated thus).

Binding Note

Originally bound by John Miller in half russia for 15s. (see his bill dated 10 November 1788); rebacked and re-cornered in late 20th-century calf over original marbled-paper boards, with new green morocco spine-labels lettered 'Monumens Antiques' and 'RA'.
