General Note
Volume 1 is in 3 parts, containing respectively Bedfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire; volume 2 is in 2 parts, containing Cambridgeshire and Cheshire; volumes 3-6 contain respectively Cornwall, Cumberland, Derby and Devon, the last of which is in 2 parts; after which no more was published.
Vol. 1 was published in 1806; but in 1813 new titlepages and new preliminary and final leaves were printed, incorporating together all previous additions and corrections with the further additions and corrections of 1813, and intended, by separating the matter which referred to each of three counties, to make it possible to bind each as a distinct volume. This copy contains these leaves of 1813 (substituted for the original leaves of 1806) and the additional plates which were issued in that year. The set in this library lacks volumes, 3, 5 and 6.
Printer statement reading Strahan and Preston, Printers-Street, London, appears on the versos of the half-titles of Vol. I, parts I-III; and one reading Strahan and Preston, New-Street Square, London, appears on the verso of the titlepages of Vol. II, parts I and II.
