Summary Note

Besides the half-title and title-page of the whole work, which appear at the beginning of Volume I, each volume has its own divisional half-title and divisional title-page. The three divisional half-titles read, 'Architettura Antica Sezione I. Architettura Egiziana (II. Architettura Greca) (III. Architettura Romana) Monumenti'. The three divisional titlepages replace the word 'Antica' with the words 'Egiziana', 'Greca' and 'Romana' respectively. The publication-date of 1839 is given on the general title-page; the divisional title-pages carry the dates of (vol. I) 'Dell'Anno 1839 Al 1844', (vol. II) '1834-1841' and (Vol. III) '1830-1840'.

The plates of Volume I show not only Egyptian but also Persian, Middle Eastern, Indian and Chinese architecture. All three volumes include maps, plans, elevations, sections, views and architectural details.

These three volumes of plates were published to accompany volumes of text. (The text volumes were also issued in smaller, octavo, format.)
