General Note
Boito, a leading architect in the sensitive restoration of historic architecture, was the architect responsible for restoration work in the Basilica of St Anthony in Padua in 1895 where he concentrated the statuary and reliefs by Donatello from around the church onto and around the main altar.
The printer statement is found in the colophon on the final leaf of the work: Finito di stampare il dì 31 di agosto 1896 nell'Istituto italiano d'arti grafiche in Bergamo.
