General Note

The work was issued in 10 parts, unbound, and collected in a portfolio. The plates and illustrations in this work were mostly taken from French secular buildings with a few examples from ecclesiastical buildings. Following the half-title and title-page there is a table of contents which lists the chromolithographic plates. This is followed by the unpaginated text of the parts interspersed with the plates.

Binding Note

The portfolio is covered in red cloth with gold lettering. The full title is on the front board and the spine is lettered, 'Gélis-Didot - Peinture Décorative'.
