The publication-date of 1829 is carried by the title page and most plates; some plates carry the date of 1828. The title given on the added engraved title-plate reads, 'Storia Della Vita E Delle Opere di Raffaello Sanzio'.

The first plate, the added engraved title-plate, shows Raphael seated with his 'innamorata'. The rest are outline drawings, showing a self-portrait of the artist and various paintings by him - apart from pl. [11], which is a folded facsimile of his writing.
