Includes, 'An Account of the Temple Church' by Sydney Smirke (p. 1-8). Printer statement on verso of half-title, 'London: Printed by A. Spottiswoode, New-Street-Square.' Also on the verso of half-title is a notice by the publisher, John Weale, that he had purchased the drawings by Essex and Smirke had written an account of the church for him and that therefore the copyright of all the plates and the text, according to 'the recent Acts of Parliament', reside with him.
