Summary Note
Here Scannelli argues against Vasari's proposition that Florentine art was pre-eminent throughout Italy. Instead he sees the Lombard-Emilian school, especially as exemplified by Correggio, as combining the excellences of the Venetian and the Roman-Tuscan schools.
