Summary Note

The work describes the frescoes painted by Ludovico Carracci and his followers in the cloister of the convent of S. Michele in Bosco, Bologna, in 1604-5. Their subject is the life of St. Benedict.

The plates show several of the frescoes and also the caryatid decorations by which they were divided. The names of the painters are engraved on the plates, and include Britio (pl.1), Garbieri (2), Guido Reni (3, 15), Lod. Carracci (4-12, 17-[19]), L. Massari (13, 14), Giac. Cavedoni (16).
