In the Zinne-Beelden, Oft Adams Appel Jan van der Veen's verses on contemporary Dutch behaviour are illustrated by fifty etchings showing pastoral landscapes and genre.

These are followed by Veen's Over-Zeesche Bruylofs-Zangen, or wedding songs, and Over-Zeesche Zege-Zangen, or victory songs; which are unillustrated.
