General Note
This work is a series of 40 photogravure plates of various paintings by Hubert and Jan van Eyck published in four parts. Each part contains 10 plates and is enclosed within a blue wrapper with the title, part number and publisher on the outer cover. The final part (4) also contains a title-page for the work (with title and publisher but no date) and at the end of the plates a list of the titles of the plates in each part, numbered consecutively. There is first a listing in French (recto) and then the listing in Dutch (verso). The plates are captioned in French and Dutch. The four parts are contained in a portfolio.
Binding Note
The portfolio is green cloth-covered boards with the title in gold lettering on the front (Hubert et Jan Van Eyck) and on the spine (Hubert & Jan Van Eyck).
