Summary Note

This publication celebrates the advent of Albert and Isabella to the Netherlands, of which they had become joint rulers in 1599.

The illustrations show some occasions in their progress and many of the temporary structures (arches, statues etc.) erected in celebration. The illustrations are full-page or double-page. The book also has decorated initials.

Pages 270-1 carry musical notation.

Provenance

The verso of the front loose endpaper is inscribed in ink, 'S.A:H', i.e. S.A. Hart, librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.
