Summary Note

In the fifth volume Books 14 and 15 of the History are followed by three dissertations: 1. on the ancient and modern government of the Order; 2. on the Qur'an; 3. on the Zizim.

In the same year the publishers also issued a quarto version in four volumes, illustrated with portraits and maps.

An English translation of the work was published in 1728 as The History Of The Knights of Malta ... Illustrated With LXXI Heads of the Grand Masters &c. (2 v., London: G. Strahan [& al.]).
