The letter carries the date of '20 Dicembre' and states that the three last volumes of his book will appear in 1820. Presentation of the copy to the Royal Academy was acknowledged on 12 January 1819 (CM VI, 27-8). Henry Sass's own A Journey To Rome ... Containing Observations On The Fine Arts appeared in 1818.
