The first edition had 420 woodcuts by Cristoforo Guerra (C. Chrieger), based on drawings by Vecellio, 361 of them relating to Europe (with much on Venice) and 59 relating to Asia and Africa. The present edition has 506 prints (including twenty relating to America).
