Provenance

The front pastedown carries the 19th-century bookplate of 'Edward Magrath'. It is inscribed in pencil 'S.A: H', i.e. S.A. Hart, librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.

Binding Note

19th-century red cloth-covered boards, upper and lower covers decorated in blind, upper cover lettered 'Gems Of British Art In Eleven Plates By Stuart Newton R.A.' within gilt-stamped floral cartouche; rebacked in 1990, spine unlettered.
