Waterston & Co.; and 'Sun printing', i.e. the 'carbon process', e.g. plates 54 (Aretino) by Charles B. Praetorius, and 109 (Sixtus V) by Alexander MacGlashon, and the 'photodynamic', e.g. pl. 107 (Coornhert) by Sawyer & Bird.

Provenance

The verso of the half-title is inscribed in red ink, 'Presented to the Library of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts with the compliments of the Editor William Stirling Maxwell May 1st 1873'.

Copy Note

The note printed on the verso of the title page of the Academy's copy states that ' ... This Is Number 43'.
