Lewis Vulliamy made the drawings for this work while on a travelling scholarship of the Royal Academy. For his own buildings he drew not only on classical but also on Romanesque, Gothic and Italian Renaissance styles, e.g. the church of All Saints, Ennismore Gardens (Italian Romanesque) and Dorchester House, Park Lane (Italian Renaissance).
