General Note

The book consists of a discussion of the life and work of Paulus (Paul) Potter followed by a mounted reproduction of an anonymous etched portrait of Potter in the British Museum and 20 mounted reproductions of Potter etchings of animals. Each of the reproductions is preceded by notes on the etching and the collection source of the work. The printer's device for J. Claye is found at the end of the book.

Binding Note

The binding is of quarter-bound dark green leather with gilt lettering on the spine reading, 'Eaux-Fortes de Paul Potter', 'R. A.' and 'Paris'.
