Fifteen of Piranesi's drawings for this suite are now in the the Sir John Soane's Museum, London.

The ruins at Paestum had earlier been descibed in Suite de plans des trois temples antiques à Paestum (1764, with engravings by Dumont after Soufflot) and The ruins of Paestum (1768, with engravings by Thomas Major after Soufflot and others).
