Summary Note

The second volume omits the name of the bookseller Fuchs from the imprint.

C.-H. Watelet's Dictionnaire des beaux-arts had first been published in two volumes in 1788-91.

There are no illustrations. A title-page vignette and a headpiece are repeated in all five volumes, the vignette showing the printer's monogram 'LFP', the headpiece a sunburst above artists' implements.

Each volume is inscribed in ink on the front loose endpaper, 'Bequest of Sr. A. W. Callcott'.
