Summary Note

The book describes the Hôtel commissioned as a hostel for disabled soldiers and built by L. Bruand (1671-4) and J. Hardouin Mansart (1676-1706).

18th-century red morocco, upper and lower covers gilt-stamped with border incorporating Louis XIV's monogram and with the royal arms of France in the centre; gilt-decorated spine lettered 'L'Hoste Royal Des Invali'.
