Summary Note

The Avertissement states that this publication includes plates formerly used in A. Felibien's Des principes de l'architecture, de la sculpture, de la peinture ( first published in 1676, with further editions in 1690, 1697 and 1699).

The first few plates show architectural orders and decorations; the rest, various arts and crafts and their tools, including engraving (pl. LXI, p. 122) and printing (pl. LXVI, LXVII, pp. 136, 138, 139).
