The work is dedicated by Jacob Koppmayer to Maximilian Emanuel, Elector of Bavaria.

Summary Note

Text and plates describe ceremonies and celebrations for the coronation of Emperor Leopold I's third wife, Eleonore Magdalena Theresia, as Empress, and of their son Joseph as king of Rome (afterwards Emperor Joseph I). Plate [4] (p.170) has a caption referring to a coronation of 1630.

The second edition was published in the same year, 1690 (Das hochbeehrte Augspurg wie solches nicht allein ...).

Provenance

A preliminary leaf of the volume is inscribed in pencil, 'HW 13 Feb. 1827', and in red ink, '1973'.

Copy Note

Plate [5] (p. 182) has become disbound. This copy has three addditional plates bound in - two of them before the title-page, showing events relating to the wedding of Emperor Leopold I and his first wife, Margareta Theresa, in 1666 (the first of these consists of two prints pasted together), the third bound in at p.3, a folding plate showing portraits of the imperial family. None of these additional plates is signed.
