Summary Note

According to the dedication and introduction Dutertre began his copies in 1787 and, as well as studying the original painting, also used early copies by Marco d'Oggiono and Paul Lomazzo.

The fourteen plates show a portrait-head of Leonardo da Vinci, and the heads of Christ and the twelve Apostles, from Leonardo's painting of the Last Supper, made for the Convent of Sta. Maria delle Grazie in Milan in 1495-7. There is one in-text illustration, which shows the painting as a whole.

Imperfect: lacks the title page. There are pencilled annotations on the in-text illustration, identifying the persons represented.
