The front pastedown carries the armorial bookplate of Violet Gurney. The front free endpaper carries the pictorial engraved bookplate of Bryan Hall, with the motto `Spes Mea In Deo ‘.
Illustrated with 10 chromolithographic plates (including frontispiece) by the Leighton Brothers. Each plate has a protective interleaf with descriptive letterpress. Text wood-engravings.
The book carries no publication date. Imprint date from British Museum and British Library catalogues.
