This portfolio contains a loose collection of plates from the Penrose work which, according to a note on the Royal Academy of Arts bookplate, is a 'Duplicate set of plates compiled for use of RA Architectural School.' This set of plates includes the frontispiece and plates 1-40, but lacks plate 41 from the appendix of the complete work. The plates were printed by W. Nicol, Shakspeare Press, Pall Mall, Longman and Co., Paternoster Row, and John Murray, Albemarle Street. (For the complete printed work, see 05/850)
