Summary Note

The imprint on the title-page of the second address reads, 'London: Printed By D.S. Maurice, Fenchurch Street. MDCCCXXVI.' This volume contains two addresses, as indicated by the half-title, 'Addresses To The Students Of The Royal Academy, By The President'. The first has the caption-title, 'Address To The Students Of The Royal Academy, At the Distribution of Medals, on the 10th of December, 1825 ...'; the second, the caption-title, 'Address', which someone has inscribed in ink, 'On Delivering the Silver Medals to the Students Dm 10. 1826'.

Lawrence was President of the Royal Academy from 1820 to 1830.

The 1826 volume carries the following inscriptions in an unknown hand: on the dedication-page, in pencil, '1825'; on the first page of the second address, in ink, 'On Delivering the Silver Medals to the Students Dm 10. 1826'; at the foot of p. 8, in ink, 'Flaxman'; at the foot of p. 12, in ink, 'A Commission from George Earl of Egrement & now at Petworth'.
