Inscribed in black ink on front pastedown: `Charles Wheeler September 1916'. (Presumably the sculptor Sir Charles Wheeler PRA (1892 - 1974). The book includes several underlinings and annotations to the text, possibly in the same hand as the inscription on the pastedown).
