The title-page vignette and headpiece of the dedication in Volume I are signed as designed and engraved by H. Gravelot; those of Volume II Part I and the title-page vignette of Part II are signed as drawn by H. Gravelot and engraved by C. Grignion.

The author dedicates Volume I to Henry Earl of Pembroke; Volume II, to Philip Earl of Chesterfield. Several plates have their own dedication captions.
