General Note

This seems to be a new edition of the Italian text with the plates published in 1687 and 1694 editions (by the same publisher). Prima parte: books 1-3; seconda parte: books 6-8. Books 4-5 and 9-10 were never published. Engraved titlepages to each part incorporate a medallion portrait of the author and carry the dedication to Cardinal Pamfilio [Benedetto Pamphili]. Numerous engraved illustrations appear throughout the text. Includes indexes.
